The 1911
Minor point - I edited the page to say that Sam's "1911" is actually the Colt M1991A1 Series 80. PropStore had this same gun (deactivated for sale to U.K. customers, before recent changes in the laws there) on sale about 5 years ago, along with the Beretta 92FS Inox that was used by Vincent. I probably should have edited the page to reflect this information much sooner (given that Ronin is one of our most popular pages and I usually keep abreast of what PropStore has on sale), but I didn't get a chance. -MT2008 11:27, 20 November 2011 (CST)
Unknown Rocket Launcher
Sam takes out a convoy car with a type of LAW (Light Anti-Tank Weapon) he fires from his sunroof. The make and type is unknown, although it looks similar to an M72 LAW but it isn't. The body is too thick and it has an optical sight separate from the pop up sights of the LAW style launcher. Also the firing control button is completely unknown. It is probably a mockup fabrication, based on the LAW rocket design.
It is quite possibly an RPG18, a Russian knock off of the LAW, or mocked up to be one. There are other LAW knock offs in the RPG series.
Sorry, It is not RPG-18, nor RPG-26 - both has completly different front sight.

Heckler & Koch Rifle
In the image below you can see one of the SWAT guys has a Heckler & Koch rifle, either a G3 variant or a possible CETME Rifle
Taurus PT92 used Germans or Russians?
Two German spies are armed with the Taurus PT92 during the stadium scene. These are noted as Taurus PT92's by the lack of slide mounted safety and squared trigger guard.
How do you know they are German? I thought Gregor was negotiating with the Russians. Why aren't they Russian mercs? How did you find out they were German?

Vincent describes Gregor as "German, ex-KGB" to the old man who helps them when Sam is wounded. There's no reason to think that the other bad guys are Germans except that they've clearly associated with Gregor before--but they could just as easily, and indeed probably are, Russians.

In the coliseum when Vincent and Sam confront the German, one of the German ask where he knew Vincent from. Vincent answers that he recognizes him from Berlin. I think its safe to assume these guys are German.

Correction
I made some corrections to the main page:
- The Beretta 92FS Inox was listed as "Beretta Inox" only
- I removed the "M" from "Beretta M93R" because there is no such thing only in Modern Warfare 2

- I really can't tell if this is a P229, but I would guess not. The factory two-tone P229 available in those days had nickel controls (though it could also be a blued 229 with an after-market nickel finish on the slide). But I would guess that this is more likely to be the P239 that is also used by Seamus. -MT2008 16:32, 16 November 2011 (CST)
- I think it is a P229, you can see the diagonal step in the frame above the trigger of the double stack pistols, which the P239 doesn't have. Isn't that clear though so might be wrong. Anyone have the bluray? --commando552 17:32, 16 November 2011 (CST)
- I tend to agree with Commando. I think it's a P229 as well. I think that diagonal line on the frame IS the step for the widened part of the frame for the double stack magazines. The P239 definitely has no visible lines on the right side of the frame. Also, the P229 has a longer, slightly more prominent hammer spur like the one seen in the pic, whereas the P239 has a considerably shorter, more low-profile hammer spur. And that looks like a stainless steel finish rather than nickle-plated, which have been available on most SIG pistols for many years including both the P229 and P239. A good determining factor would be a better view of the trigger guard as they have slightly different shapes on the P229 vis the P239, but that part may be tucked too far into the trousers to see on any pic. --Travestytrav 20:31, 16 November 2011 (CST)
- I have this movie on Blu-ray now, and you guys are right - it is indeed a P229, contrary to my expectations. Surprised I missed the bulges on the frame indicating a 229 (or any SIG pistol taking a double-stack magazine). But it's not a factory two-tone job - it must have been a regular blued 229 that had its slide re-finished. Otherwise, as I said earlier, it would have nickel controls as well as slide. -MT2008 11:12, 20 November 2011 (CST)
