Possible Colt .38

The screen cap under the COLT NEW SERVICE section shows the gun on Tom's nightstand labeled as a New Service, but the barrel looks at least an inch shorter and the sight appears to be a curved 'half moon' as opposed to the curved blade sight on the New Service. It's definitely a Colt based on the logos on the grips, but I don't think it's the big .45 New Service. It could potentially be the Pocket Positive used later in the film, as the sight and barrel look more similar than those of the New Service. --Caldwellb734 (talk) 14:14, 12 March 2016 (EST)

Leo's Colt New Service, note the long barrel and hook-shaped sight.
The revolver currently labeled as a New Service. Note the shorter barrel and possible 'half-moon' sight.
I agree it's not a New Service (indeed looks to have the half-moon front sight), but it's not the Pocket Positive already listed, either - That gun clearly has a shorter barrel than this gun, which looks to be about 4", and is a good deal smaller as well. I'd say this is a Colt Official Police - Tough to tell in this shot but it seems to have the downward 'hump' at the top of the trigger - a distinguishing feature. The overall size looks right for an OP, as well. StanTheMan (talk) 20:55, 12 March 2016 (EST)
My thoughts went to the Pocket Positive because I thought the possibility of it being recycled from the other scene was probable, but they went to the Official Police as well. It could've been in that big shootout where Sam Raimi had his cameo, but I want to keep speculation to a minimum.
