What is a 50.50

On the page for District 9 it lists the specific FAL variant as a 50.50. This is not mentioned on this page, and I can't seem to find it online. Is this a misprint, or if not does anyone have any more information about it?--Commando552 00:42, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

It is a mistype on the section title - The title is meant to read FAL 50-00, which it states so on the gun thumbnail. I've changed it, however I have to say I think the gun is actually an LAR, not a FAL 50-00. StanTheMan 03:29, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
Actually it's only HALF of a FAL, thus the 50/50 remark! LOL! mpm
And Stan the man is right. It looks to be a FAL Light Automatic Rifle, not a 50.00 MoviePropMaster2008
Thanks guys, wondered why I had no idea what the hell it was. I actually think that it is one of the early South African R1s that were Belgian made. Here is a pic of one for reference: http://www.saaaca.org.za/links/SIG/fal/PDC_0057.jpg. Commando552 15:47, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
Looks like we have a winner! Thanks! Now I have to replace the original LAR fore arm furniture and put the 50.00 forearm on it and 'build up' an R1 look a like for that page. Arghhh. The work never ends ;) MoviePropMaster2008 17:20, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
Doomed you are, Mastah! ;D StanTheMan 17:53, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

FAL and FNC

Based on their apparent similarities, are some components (specifically, stocks) interchangable between the FN FNC and FN FAL? For example, could one attach a FAL 50.00 stock to an FNC? MrOshimida27 19:30, 28 March 2011 (CDT)

LAR/Romat parts swapping.

I found this particular gun in Ultimate Force and it seems to have the hand-guard of a Romat, but the barrel and flash hider of an LAR. Is it more likely (or even possible) that this is an LAR with Romat hand-guard, or LAR with Romat barrel? Can all FAL variants (assuming they are both metric/imperial) swap parts with one another? In the same episode, what appears to be a gun with the hand-guard of an LAR but the barrel of a Romat is also seen, suggesting they traded parts for some reason. --commando552 16:07, 4 April 2011 (CDT)

Grenade launcher attachment

Is there some FN FAL paratrooper model with grenade launcher attachment? I suspect that it is used by Colonel in "Assault Girls". Tomas 14:28, 13 June 2011 (CDT)

Might be wrong, as I am only going from the glimpses shown in the youtube trailer, but it looks like the FAL is fitted with a RIS handguard. If that is the case, it is relatively simple to attach a M203, CM203 or Airsoft replica (most likely in this case from the very unrealistic firing effects). Even if not RIS, a regular FAL can be fitted with an M203PI EGLM via use of an interbar mount. Film where similar mounts can be seen are The Postman and Escape from L.A.. Although not relevant for this case as it is clearly an M203 type launcher, interesting tid bit is that the Australians used FAL variants fitted with xm148s during Vietnam. --commando552 17:04, 13 June 2011 (CDT)
I built the FAL's used in Escape from L.A. and The Postman when I was at Ellis Mercantile. I also machined the Cobray 203 mounts and made the flash hider/BFA for them.--phoenixent 12:26, 24 March 2012 (CDT)
