Striking Distance (1993)

Handguns

SIG-Sauer P226

A SIG-Sauer P226 is the sidearm of Pittsburgh Detective Tom Hardy (Bruce Willis). It's also used by Det. Jimmy Detillo (Robert Pastorelli). A nickel-plated P226 is also carried by Captain Nick Detillo (Dennis Farina) as his sidearm in 1993. It is drawn only in the climax of the movie.

A factory black (K-Kote) SIG-Sauer P226 pistol chambered in 9x19mm. This is a real movie gun and has appeared in several motion pictures.

Highlight for Spoilers: In the climax of the movie, when Det. Jimmy Detillo (Robert Pastorelli) is revealed to be the killer, he takes Hardy's P226 and threatens to kill everyone (himself included) with it.

Glock 19

Jo Christman (Sarah Jessica Parker) carries a Glock 19 as her service sidearm. It is only drawn once, when Hardy threatens a suspect. One of the other officers in the river patrol unit also carries a Glock 19 in his hip holster.

Smith & Wesson Model 60

Both Lieutenant Vince Hardy (John Mahoney) and Capt. Nick Detillo (Dennis Farina) use the Smith & Wesson Model 60 in 1991, during the opening chase scene. Capt. Detillo later carries a nickel SIG-Sauer P226 when the movie shifts to 1993.

Classic Smith & Wesson Model 60 - .38 Special

Lt. Vince Hardy (John Mahoney) uses his S&W Model 60 to shoot out the rear tire of the killer's car.

Another S&W Model 60 is planted in Tom Hardy's house by the killer to frame him.

Highlight for Spoilers: Capt. Detillo points his S&W Model 60 at his son Jimmy after learning that he is the killer.

Highlight for Spoilers: Unwilling to shoot or even arrest his own son, Capt. Detillo pulls back his S&W Model 60.

Highlight for Spoilers: After Capt. Detillo lets Jimmy run, Lt. Hardy tries to shoot Jimmy with his own S&W Model 60.

Beretta 92F

While on the tugboat, Hardy confronts two hijackers, one of whom is armed with a Beretta 92F. Hardy uses his Mossberg 590 Mariner to shoot the Beretta out of the thug's hand.

Smith & Wesson 5904

Another of the two hijackers that Hardy confronts is armed with a Smith & Wesson 5904.

Smith & Wesson 5904 - 9x19mm. The early model 5904 pistols had the finger step trigger guard, but S&W changed it to the rounded trigger guard for 'ease of production'.

Heckler & Koch P9S

The last of the hijackers shot by Hardy on the tugboat uses a Heckler & Koch P9S.

Another hijacker tries to shoot Hardy with his H&K P9S before Hardy puts him down with his SIG P226.

Shotguns

Mossberg 590 Mariner

Hardy uses a Mossberg 590 Mariner when confronting a couple of boat hijackers. He unloads the only two rounds and puts them in his mouth before jumping in the water. Jo Christman (Sarah Jessica Parker) is also seen holding the shotgun when chasing the serial killer.

Det. Hardy exits the patrol boat with the Mossberg 590 Mariner in hand.

Before diving into the water to board the tugboat, Hardy ejects the shells out of the Mossberg.

Hardy clubs a suspect with the stock of the Mossberg. Note that in this image, the rubber butt pad of the shotgun appears to be damaged (possibly because Bruce Willis accidentally banged the stock into the hatch over the course of multiple takes of filming).

Hardy points the 590 at a suspect.

Remington 870 Folding Stock
