The Smith & Wesson M&P is a short-recoil operated, locked breech semi-automatic pistol. Designed in 2005 for use by police departments and other forces, it is currently in use by over 500 police departments across the US, and many in Australia, Canada, and Iraq. It comes in 9x19mm, .45ACP, .40S&W, and .357 Sig, with either a 4.25 inch barrel or 3.5 inch barrel.
