The Smith & Wesson 3913 "Ladysmith" is one of a long line of "Ladysmith" pistols, a line which includes revolvers as well as semiautomatics. The intention was to make stylish slimline firearms designed for smaller hands, though the attractive styling of the handguns has enamored many male customers as well.

Smith & Wesson 3913NL
The Smith & Wesson 3913NL is based on the S&W Model 3913 but has a dust cover like the Lady Smith. The S&W 3913NL is identical to the 3913 "Lady Smith" except that the NL version does not have "Lady Smith" inscribed on the right hand side of the slide as seen in the picture. The 3913NL was released subsequent to the 3913 LadySmith for users who liked the design but did not favor the "LadySmith" inscription on the slide. The NL in 3913NL has been rumored to stand for "No Logo", "New Look", "Non-Ladysmith" and "Non-Left" as it lacks an ambidextrous safety.
