SIG-Sauer MCX Spear
The MCX Spear is variant unveiled in 2019 and designed for the United States Army's Next Generation Squad Weapon program. It is based on the MCX-MR, SIG-Sauer's previous unsuccessful submission for the Compact Semi-Automatic Sniper System program. The commercial version of the MCX Spear became available in early 2022.
A carbine version with an 8" barrel and a receiver nearly identical to the MCX-MR was previously unveiled in late 2018. Further info about it was disclosed in late 2021, when its name was revealed as the MCX Raptor.
