Pistols

Smith & Wesson Mk II Hand Ejector

Captain Homer Jackson (Adam Rothenberg) uses a Smith & Wesson Mk II Hand Ejector. This revolver is anachronistic as the series is set in 1889, and the Mk II Hand Ejector was not developed until 1915. The only swing-out cylinder revolvers available in 1889 would be the Colt New Army & Navy (just introduced).

Detective Sergeant Bennet Drake (Jerome Flynn) takes Jackson's revolver to escape a gang of anarchists in "Tournament of Shadows" (S01E06).

The Smith & Wesson Mk II Hand Ejector features prominently in "A Man of My Company" (S01E07) where it is revealed that Jackson has a pair (he is cleaning one whilst the other is on the table).

Long Susan (MyAnna Buring) picks up one of the revolvers, which Jackson then lets her keep for protection.

Webley .455 Mk IV

A Webley .455 Mk IV is found on the body of a murderer in "The Good of This City" (S01E04). A Webley is also carried by George Doggett (Sam Hazeldine) in "The Weight of One Man's Heart" (S01E05).

Cobra Big Bore Derringer

A Cobra Big Bore Derringer is carried by Madoc Faulkner (Iain Glen) in "The Weight of One Man's Heart" (S01E05). This pistol is a modern improved variant of the time period appropriate Remington 1866 Derringer.

Note the Cobra's cross bolt safety, along with the shape of the rear of the frame which identifies this as a "Big Bore" variant.

Single Action Army "Quickdraw"

One of the Pinkerton agents in "A Man of My Company" (S01E07) carries a Single Action Army "Quickdraw" fitted with "Bird's Head" grips in a cross draw holster. In "Your Father. My Friend" (S03E05) Long Susan (MyAnna Buring) fires the same revolver, then plants it in a dead man's hand.

The revolver is also visible being carried by the same man in a photograph.

Several of the Pinkerton agents in "A Man of My Company" (S01E07) carry Single Action Army "Artillery" revolvers.

Kimar Derringer

Long Susan (MyAnna Buring) gives one of her girls, Bella (Gillian Saker) a chrome-plated Kimar Derringer for protection in "What Use Our Work?" (S01E08). The Kimar is a modern blank firing reproduction of the time period appropriate Remington 1866 Derringer.

A Side by Side Sawed Off Shotgun can be seen in the opening credits. Later, a thug in a brothel fires one at Reid and Drake in "Your Father. My Friend" (S03E04).

A scoped Whitworth Rifle is used by George Doggett (Sam Hazeldine) in "The Weight of One Man's Heart" (S01E05).

One of Faulkner's men can be seen with a Snider-Enfield Cavalry Carbine in "The Weight of One Man's Heart" (S01E05).

Winchester Model 1866 "Yellow Boy"

A box of what appear to be Winchester Model 1866 "Yellow Boy" rifles is seen being unloaded by the Pinkerton agents in "A Man of My Company" (S01E07). The design of the rear sight and the placement of the barrel band, coupled with the fact that they are never used, suggests that they may actually be non-firing replicas manufactured by Denix.

Winchester Model 1894

Frank Goodnight (Edoardo Ballerini) has a Winchester Model 1894 in "A Man of My Company" (S01E07). This rifle is anachronistic with the series taking place in 1889, five years before the rifle was introduced.

Machine Guns

Maxim 1895

In "The Peace of Edmund Reid" (S3E08), Jackson shows Reid schematics of the new Maxim machine gun that Theodore Swift (Ian McElhinney) is trafficking. Swfit himself fires one of these guns to execute an informant. This is roughly accurate, where the second half of Season 3 takes place in 1895, when the Maxim was first developed.
