The Outsiders is a 1983 drama based on the novel by S.E. Hinton that tells the story of young boys who were social outcasts growing up in 1950's Oklahoma. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola, the film featured numerous actors who later go onto bigger fame including Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Ralph Macchio, Diane Lane, and Tom Cruise. Released in severely edited form in 1983, the film was later released in 2005 with 22 minutes restored on DVD under the title The Outsiders: The Complete Novel.

Star Model BM
Dally Winston (Matt Dillon) uses a Star Model BMthroughout the film (which he claims he keeps unloaded). Dally first takes out of his convertible at the Dairy Queen, which he quickly hides in the glove compartment. After Johnny dies, Dally pulls it out on a doctor, dry firing it at him. Smith & Wesson Model 10
Along with $50, Dally Winston (Matt Dillon) gives Ponyboy Curtis (C. Thomas Howell) and Johnny Cade (Ralph Macchio) a Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolver. Although they never fire it, Johnny is seen handling it in the train car.
Smith & Wesson Model 15
The two police officers that fire on Dally are armed with Smith & Wesson Model 15s.
Iver Johnson Revolver
During the robbery, the Store Clerk (William Smith) uses a nickel-plated Iver Johnson Revolver in .32 S&W, firing it at Dally when he makes his escape.
