Open Fire is a 1994 direct-to-video action movie directed by Kurt Anderson (Martial Outlaw). The film's plot closely resembles that of Die Hard, but takes place at the chemical plant which is seized by a terrorist group. The main character is Alec McNeil (Jeff Wincott), a former FBI agent who was dismissed from service.

A Smith & Wesson Model 15 is seen in hands of a psycho (Paulo Tocha) in Alec McNeil's (Jeff Wincott) flashback scene.

Pistols

Beretta 92FS

Alec McNeil's (Jeff Wincott) main weapon is the Beretta 92FS. Later he gives his pistol to Lynne Tolbert (Mimi Craven) and gets another one from a body of a terrorist. Most of the terrorists also carry these pistols. A highway patrol officer also has what appears to be a Beretta in his holster. Only a grip can be seen.

Beretta 92FS Inox

Roy's (Michael Shaner) Beretta 92FS switches to Beretta 92FS Inox when he fires at a highway patrol officer. In the final scene Stein Kruger's (Patrick Kilpatrick) Beretta also switches to Inox version.

Beretta 92FS Inox - 9x19mm. This pistol was the screen used gun, used throughout the film by Det. Max Kirkpatrick (William Baldwin) and once by Kate McQuean (Cindy Crawford) in the film Fair Game.

Desert Eagle Mark I

Stainless steel Desert Eagle Mark I is seen during the opening credits. It never appears in the movie again.

Several of the terrorists carry Cobray M11/9 SMGs. Alec McNeil (Jeff Wincott) takes M11/9 from a female terrorist and uses it himself.

In the final scene Kruger (Patrick Kilpatrick) is armed with a Mossberg 590 with ghost ring sights, extended magazine tube and saddle shell holder. Later Alec McNeil (Jeff Wincott) takes his shotgun. Similar shotguns are used by police and FBI.

Type 56 Carbine

In the opening scene one of the terrorists carries a Type 56 Carbine but this gun is never seen later.

Chinese Type 56 Carbine aka the Chinese SKS rifle - 7.62x39mm. The Chinese SKS has a stamped receiver and a spike bayonet (aka a "pig sticker").

Assault Rifles

M16A1

Several of the terrorists are seen with M16A1 rifles, some of them fitted with A2-style handguards.

Colt AR-15A2 Sporter Lightweight

Deacon (Ron Howard George) carries an M16 carbine that looks similar to AR-15A2 Sporter Lightweight. It has a solid fixed stock, not collapsible as most M16 carbine versions. In the final scene it switches several times to M16A1 and back again. Nakata (Leo Lee) carries a similar carbine with sniper scope in one scene but never uses it in action.

Colt Model R6530 "AR-15A2 Sporter Lightweight" - 5.56x45mm. This rifle is a civilian version of the AR-15A2 Government Carbine, and is identical apart from the addition of a fixed stock and removal of the bayonet lug.

Deacon carries an M16 carbine.

Two M72 LAW are used by the terrorists: the first one to destroy the police car and the second one - in the unsuccessful effort to kill Alec McNeil. During the opening credits LAW is incorrectly shown as reloadable weapon.
