Oil Lamps (Petrolejové lampy) (1971)

Oil Lamps (Petrolejové lampy) is a 1971 Czechoslovak drama. Directed by Juraj Herz ​​according to the book of Jaroslav Havlícek. The story focuses on Stepa Kiliánová (Iva Janzurová), the daughter of a wealthy master mason and farmer's wife and a from vejrychovského estate, who lives in a small town at early 20th century. Her fate was connected with her dreams man, cousin Pavel Malina (Petr Cepek), lieutenant of the Austro-Hungarian army, which contracted syphilis during the service and it will lead to his paralysis.
