The Norinco QL-series grenade launchers are a pair of unusual repeating grenade launchers developed by China due to dissatisfaction with AGS-17 clones. Deciding to develop a portable weapon more comparable to a general-purpose machine gun than a normal AGL, the designers elected to use the same low-pressure 35mm grenade used by some Chinese underbarrel launchers in a gas-operated weapon.

The earliest design, the W-87, was a top-feeding weapon featuring a wooden stock and a large conical flash hider, but by the time of the production version these had been replaced with a large muzzle brake and a padded stock pad. The production version is known as the Type 87 grenade launcher or QLZ-87.

The Norinco QL-series grenade launchers appear in the following video games used by the following actors:

The QLB-06, also known as the QLZ-87B, is a further development of the QLZ-87. It is focused on the "light" configuration, abandoning fullauto capability and featuring a polymer body, pistol grip, a large integrated carry handle replacing the combined charging / carrying handle of the QLZ-87, a folding charging handle on the weapon's right side, and an integral rail for mounting modern optics.
