New Kids Nitro is a 2011 Dutch absurd comedy about the life of a group of five anti-social and dysfunctional young men in the Dutch village of Maaskantje, in the rural south of Holland. Just like in the prequel New Kids Turbo they have nothing much to do with their lives but to drink beer and hang around in the village center.

One day, just as their clash with a gang from the rivalling village of Schijndel seems to be getting out of hand, they are contacted by Dutch secret service. Zombies have emerged in the northern part of Holland and an attempt by special forces to stop them has failed. The New Kids, who are deemed totally expendable, are supplied with a trunk full of guns and send against the zombies.

The following guns were used in the film New Kids Nitro:

Handguns

Smith & Wesson Model 586

Robbie is carrying a rather unusual revolver to fight zombies. This particular gun has been identified by a source close to the original owner as an AT Customworks PPC Smith & Wesson Model 586 customized by Alan Tanaka Custom Gunworks of Gardena, California. Even though the chrome finish makes it look like a Smith & Wesson Model 686, it’s actually a Smith & Wesson Model 586 of which the original dark finish has been covered with a chrome finish. The heavy barrel has been especially designed to fire .38 wadcutter rounds.

During the battle at the gas station, Robbie is wondering if his Smith & Wesson Model 586 will actually stop an approaching zombie. Note the smooth cylinder and the special target sights.
While eating a fried snack prepared by the snack counter owner in the background, Robbie takes out a few more zombies. Special attention to the customized tri-part front sight.

Walther P5

Maaskantje police officers are correctly portrayed with the Walther P5 which is the current standard side arm of Dutch police. Unfortunately, in most instances the Walther P5 is handled with a total lack of trigger discipline resulting in several ‘freak’ shootings of innocent bystanders.

Beretta 93R

One of the Schijndel gang members is using a Beretta 93R to fight off the hordes of zombies at the gas station battle. The gun is seen firing short bursts but surprisingly the front-handle is not used.

In this behind-the-scenes shot, the actor using the Beretta 93R is showing off the gun, note the two appropriate high-capacity magazines at his hip.

Taurus PT99AF

At the end of the movie, Rikkert switches to a silenced Taurus PT99AF as his personal side-arm. Even though it is seen very briefly, the receiver-based safety and the white markings give it away as a Taurus PT99AF.

In the final scene, Rikkert is showing his Taurus PT99AF to the female Schijndel gang member contemplating what to do with it.

Rifles

Arsenal AR-SF

One of the rappers from Woensel, who unexpectedly join the battle at the gas station, is carrying an Arsenal AR-SF as identified by the design of its distinctive muzzle brake.

The lead rapper seems to have problems to distinguish a microphone from an Arsenal AR-SF; not a wise thing to do…

M16A2

In several scenes, Gerrie is seen carrying a M16A2 Rifle. He never uses the rifle, which has a distinctive addition to the carrying handle which seems to be designed to fit a scope.

Submachine Guns

Heckler & Koch MP5KA1

Dutch special forces send to deal with the zombie threat are armed with the Heckler & Koch MP5KA1 submachine gun. It’s seen only briefly, but a detailed shot of the fire selector and the receiver can be seen in the overview section on the bottom of this page.

Having a Heckler & Koch MP5K in one’s hand surely does not guarantee victory when confronted with zombies…

Intratec TEC-DC9

In several scenes, Richard is dual-wielding a pair of Intratec TEC-DC9’s. These guns also feature prominently on the movie poster and together with his eye patch, they give him a really evil look.

Surprisingly, with one eye covered by a patch and the other one closed, Richard still manages to take out zombies with his dual-wielded Intratec TEC-DC9’s…
… and take out even more zombies in a next scene while jumping up and still having both eyes closed!

Machine Guns

MG34

The ‘New Kids’ drive into battle with the zombies in an Opel Manta sports car that has been refurbished ‘A-Team’ style with a pair of mocked-up MG34's that can be operated from a seat in the trunk of the car.

During a break at the gas station shoot-out, Barrie discusses a criminal transaction with the leader of the Woensel rappers.
In a view reminiscent of a first-person-shooter video game, zombies arising from the farmlands are being killed by the dozens by the dual MG34’s.

M249-E1 SAW

Rikkert finds himself fighting the zombies with a M249-E1 SAW machine gun. Muzzle flashes are apparently CGI generated as no shell casings or chain links are ever seen ejected.

Shotguns

Franchi SPAS-12

Rikkert and Richard use a Franchi SPAS-12 during the New Kids’ first confrontation with the zombies.

The first zombie encounter gives rise to discussion among the New Kids, with Rikkert deciding to use his Franchi SPAS-12 to see if this stops the zombies.
With Rikkert’s first shots having no impact on the zombies, Richard grabs the Franchi SPAS-12 off Rikkert and with only one eye left (…) starts firing at the zombies.

Franchi PA3

A Schijndel gang member can be seen with a Franchi PA3 as his crew jumps in to join the battle with the zombies at the gas station.

SWD/Cobray Street Sweeper

The female Schijndel gang member is using a SWD/Cobray Street Sweeper in the gas station battle against the zombies. She is not handling the shotgun in a very convincing way though.
