Mob City is a 2013 crime series created by Frank Darabont and focuses on the conflict between the mob and the LAPD that started in the late 1940s. The series was based on the novel L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America's Most Seductive City by John Buntin and premiered in the US on the TNT network on December 4, 2013.

Handguns

Colt Police Positive (Snub)

What appears to be snub nose Colt Police Positive revolvers are used by mobsters and LAPD officers in the series.

Sid Rothman (Robert Knepper) dual-wields the revolvers near the end of "Reason to Kill a Man" (S1E02).
Sid fires a couple of snub revolvers to execute two mobsters near the end of "Reason to Kill a Man" (S1E02). Note that the ejector rod is longer than the typical Colt Detective Special.

Colt Police Positive

What appears to be Colt Police Positive revolvers are held by bootleggers in "A Guy Walks Into a Bar" (S1E01).

Smith & Wesson Model M&P revolvers appear to be carried by LAPD officers during a shootout in 1927.

Sawed-off Shotgun

A Sawed-off shotgun was used by Sid Rothman (Robert Knepper) to assassinate a ratting mobster in "A Guy Walks Into a Bar" (S1E01). Sid later holds a freshly sawed-off shotgun in "His Banana Majesty" (S1E04).

M1921AC Thompsons are seen throughout the series, notably in flashbacks to the 1920's.
