The following weapons were used in the film The Mist:
Colt Magnum Carry
As the townspeople hole up in the grocery store they discover something bad is out in the mist. In search of weaponry, Amanda Dumfires (Laurie Holden) reveals a sidearm she keeps in her purse. This sidearm is a Colt Magnum Carry, the stainless reproduction of the Colt Detective Special chambered in .357 Magnum.

Ollie shoots one of the creatures in the store with the Colt Magnum Carry.
Ollie tries to shoot one of the spider creatures in the bar with the Magnum Carry but the gun clicks empty.
Ollie kills the psychopathic Mrs. Carmody (
Marcia Gay Harden) when she tries to takes members of the group out as human sacrifices.
The Magnum Carry lands on the hood of David's car when Ollie is killed by one of the creatures in the mist.
David loads the Magnum Carry.
Score one for realism, the dummy rounds don't have dented primers. Note the Colt insignia and Colt-stlye cylinder release.
David turns the gun on himself even though it is empty, and desperatly tries to shoot himself to no avail. All the clicks sound the same as he pulls the trigger but when firing on a spent shell, the click has a different sound than with an empty chamber. This is really splitting hairs though.
M4A1 Carbine
The U.S. Military personel sweeping the mist away are armed with M4A1 carbines at the end of the film, fitted with RIS foregrips, C-More red dot sights, Surefire universal weaponlights, ACOG scopes, and AN/PEQ-2 IR designators.

M203 Grenade Launcher
One of the U.S. Military personel's M4A1 is fitted with an M203 grenade launcher. It could also be a Cobray 37mm Launcher but it isn't seen close enough to be sure.

FN M240D Machine Gun
Mounted on top of the U.S Military tanks and self-propelled artillery vehicles are FN M240D machine guns, since the spade gripped model is more commonly mounted on tanks and the users appear to be holding spades.
