The Messengers is a 2015 television series that centers around a group of 5 people who, after their deaths, are subsequently brought back to life by the shockwave from an object that fell from the sky. The group is made up of Vera (Shantel VanSanten), a struggling New Mexico radio-astronomer searching for her missing son; Erin (Sofia Black-D'Elia), a young single mother from Tucson, Arizona; Peter (Joel Courtney), a an orphaned, troubled high school student in Little Rock, Arkansas; Raul (JD Pardo), a Mexican drug mule turned US Federal Agent who is desperate for a way out of his dangerous undercover assignment; and Joshua (Jon Fletcher), a former drug addict and now charismatic televangelist in Houston, Texas. The most mysterious of all is the figure known only as The Man (Diogo Morgado).
