The Matchlock Pistol is the first true handgun. While the matchlock musket was still widely used after the wheellock and even flintlock long guns appeared, matchlock pistols were very rare and short usable firearms, and were removed from any armory shortly after the appearance of Wheellock Pistols.

Matchlock Pistol

The Matchlock Pistol is the first true handgun. While the matchlock musket was still widely used after the wheellock and even flintlock long guns appeared, matchlock pistols were very rare and short usable firearms, and were removed from any armory shortly after the appearance of Wheellock Pistols.
