Masterminds (2016)

Masterminds is a 2016 comedy starring Zach Galifianakis as David Scott Ghantt, an armored car guard who decides to pull off a heist of some bank money he is transporting. The film was based on an actual incident in 1997. The cast included Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, SNL veterans who would also co-star in the 2016 remake of the film Ghostbusters.

Smith & Wesson Model 15

A Smith & Wesson Model 15 with rubber Pachmayr grips is carried by armored car guard David Scott Ghantt (Zach Galifianakis). David is shown to be quite inaccurate with it.

Smith & Wesson Model 15 with rubber Hogue grips - .38 Special

David Scott Ghantt (Zach Galifianakis) foolishly tries to put the revolver in the small of his back ("Mexican Carry"-style) before it goes off. (This would not be likely to happen, due to the heavy double action trigger pull)

Ruger Security Six

A Ruger Security Six revolver with wood target grips is carried by armored car guard Kelly Campbell (Kristen Wiig). It is later one of the guns seen on the weapons cache table. She is shown to be quite accurate with it.

Zastava M70

A Yugoslavian Zastava M70 AKMS variant is among the weapons seen on the cache table, noted by its distinctive and unique 3-holed ventilation rib on the wooden furniture, as well as its grenade launcher sight and Yugo plastic pistol grip.

M16/SP1

An original "slab-sided" Colt M16 (noted by its lack of forward assist) with a 30-round magazine is the largest weapon seen on the cache table, fitted with an M16A1 flash hider. This could also be an early model Colt "SP1" AR-15 variant.

M16 aka SP1 (flat "slab side receiver") with an A1 "birdcage" flash hider, used to resemble the M16A1 during the 1970s and 1980s. This version has a 30 round magazine - 5.56x45mm NATO
