Marlin 1893 rifle - .30-30.

The Marlin lever action rifles differed from the Winchester in that they were side-ejecting, the main selling point originally being they were better protected from weather and debris than the competing top-ejecting Winchester. Marlin would later convert the 1893 from square bolt to round bolt with side ejection port as the Model 336, with the selling point becoming ease of scope sight mounting. The Marlin 1893 (and later 336C) directly competed with the Winchester 1894 rifle.
