The Last Ship (2014)

The Last Ship is the television series adaptation of the 1988 William Brinkley novel of the same name. The series follows scientists and the crew of a US Navy destroyer who discover that they are the last hope for humanity as they attempt to find a cure to a worldwide pandemic while trying to defend themselves against those who wish to take their findings by force. The series, which premiered on June 22, 2014 in the US on the TNT network, is executive produced by Michael Bay and Jonathan Mostow directed the pilot episode. As with many Michael Bay productions, the series received cooperation from the US Navy and Department of Defense and many sequences were filmed aboard active duty US Navy destroyers. The cast includes Eric Dane, Adam Baldwin, and Rhona Mitra.
