Kill Zombie! (original title: Zombibi) is a 2011 Dutch zombie action movie about Aziz (Yahya Gaier) and his brother Mo (Mimoun Ouled Radi) who end up in jail after a pool party fight that they unintentionally started. This proves to be a lucky circumstance as that night a Russian satellite has crashed on The Netherlands causing a zombie infestation.

Together with Kim (Gigi Ravelli), the only surviving police officer, and a few others they set out to make their way to a safe zone. Halfway, Aziz receives a phone call from his girlfriend who is trapped in the building the satellite crashed on. After confiscating an army truck full of guns, the team sets out to rescue Aziz’ girlfriend rather than trying to make their way to safety.

The following weapons were used in the film Kill Zombie! :

Handguns

Walther P5

In several scenes the Walther P5, standard side issue of Dutch police forces, is seen used. Kim (Gigi Ravelli) most notably pulls one during the shoot-out at the police station and in the finale, Mo (Mimoun Ouled Radi) has one when he remains on the roof of the office building to blow up the crashed Russian satellite.

As zombies keep approaching, Kim’s Walther P5 runs empty and she, and the guys hiding behind her, must find other ways to deal with the zombies.

Smith & Wesson Model 686

When the team decides to move back into the zombie-infested zone to rescue Aziz’ girlfriend, they confiscate an army truck full of weapons. Aziz (Yahya Gaier) picks a pair of Smith & Wesson Model 686’s with wooden grips, one of these equipped with a massive scope rail but no scope attached.

Aziz inspects the Smith & Wesson Model 686 and is for no apparent reason playing around with the cylinder. There’s a good view of the massive scope rail on top of the gun.

With a determined look on his face, and his fingers on the triggers of his Smith & Wesson Model 686’s, Aziz sets out to save his girlfriend from the zombies.

In what could be a parody on Robert De Niro’s famous pose with a Smith & Wesson Model 29 in Taxi Driver, Aziz deals with a zombie in what used to be his office.

FEG P9R

In the final scene, the Russian government sends a special agent, Sgt. Andreij ‘Mad Dog’ Lidkovski (actor unknown) to blow up the remains of the crashed satellite. Apart from lots of C4 explosives and two AKS-47’s, he carries a FEG P9R that he uses from the very moment he is dropped to kill zombies.

Sgt. Andreij Lidkovski appears to be aiming the FEG P9R with his forehead. The Browning Hi-Power profile can be easily identified with the typical circle at the back end of the slide giving this gun away as a FEG P9R.

Automatic Guns

Heckler & Koch MP5A2

Kim picks up a Heckler & Koch MP5A2 from the army truck and uses it during the assault on the zombie-packed office building from which they attempt to extract Aziz’ girlfriend.

Amazingly, with most of her hair blocking her sight Kim is still able to hit quite a lot of zombies.

The anchor man (played by Carlo Boszhard in a parody on Dutch news personality Jan de Hoop) keeps a Heckler & Koch MP5A2 on his desk to fight off the zombies that keep interrupting his news bulletin.

Uzi

Another submachine gun that the team finds in the army truck is the Uzi. Jeffrey takes it first but gives it to Mo when he discovers a gun that he likes more. Mo takes a pair of these Uzi’s for the rest of the movie, one having a folding stock and the other a fixed synthetic buttstock.

With zombies moving in from behind, Jeffrey picks up one of the Uzi’s and proclaims he’s ready for action.

Kim very rightfully explaining the basic principle of trigger discipline to a surprised Mo as he’s got both his fingers on the triggers of his Uzi’s in a bumpy elevator.

Mo quite happily blasting away at the approaching zombies. Like many guns in this movie, the muzzle flash is CGI as no ejected shells can be detected at all.

Hand Held M134 Minigun (replica)

Apart from above handguns and submachine guns, the army truck that the team clears of its weapons contains what looks like a handheld Hand Held M134 Minigun which Jeffrey (Sergio Hasselbaink) happily takes. It is almost certainly a simplified replica because there’s no sign of a power supply, Jeffrey carries it around one-handedly without any slings (even though he’s no Schwarzenegger!) and the muzzle flashes are very clearly CGI generated.

Shouting out ”Say Hello to my Little Baby!” Jeffrey selects the Hand Held M134 Minigun as his weapon of choice to fight the zombies with.

The typical Y-frame of the Hand Held M134 Minigun is clearly visible as Jeffrey (without his thumb on the trigger…) inflicts serious damage on the approaching zombies.

AKS-47

Russian special agent Sgt. Andreij ‘Mad Dog’ Lidkovski not only carries a FEG P9R, but also two AKS-47’s slung across his back. He does not get to use them for reasons that become apparent in the movie.

The AKS-47’s do not appear to be hanging from his back in an organized way. Note that he seems to be carrying a corresponding long AK-47 style bayonet on his left hip.

FN FAL

In several scenes, Dutch soldiers are seen fighting the zombies with FN FAL rifles. Even though this rifle has been replaced for about a decade by the Diemaco C7A1, these soldiers are thus possibly meant to represent reserve forces.

A soldier at a check point to a safe zone aims his FN FAL at the group as a verbal dispute erupts. This rifle can easily be identified as an ‘original’ model by the ribbed metal handguard. Note the strange way he’s holding his right thumb.

In TV footage, soldiers are seen using their FN FAL’s to clear a roadblock of zombies. The rifle on the left can be seen to have a wooden buttstock.

Heckler & Koch UMP

In the movie credits, all characters are represented by a cartoon figure. Kim, carrying an Heckler & Koch MP5A2 throughout most of the movie, is incorrectly displayed to carry an Heckler & Koch UMP instead.

Other Guns

Mossberg 590

In one scene, Kim is using a Mossberg 590 shotgun to devastating effect on the zombies who are approaching the police station. This gun is not seen in later scenes and presumably left inside the police station.

Mossberg 590 - 12 Gauge. This military version has a subdued matte finish, either matte blued or parkerized.

After she saves the unsuspecting Mo and Aziz from a zombies in front of the police station, a zombie-blood splattered Kim racks the slide on her Mossberg 590 and gets ready for more zombies.

While in the background Mo and Aziz are taking refuge in the police station, Kim kills another zombie from close range. Note the good view on the extended magazine tube on the Mossberg 590.

Remington SPR220

When the team takes refuge in a garage, they encounter the somewhat deranged owner who keeps his brother, already turned into a zombie, in chains. He protects him with a cut-down double barrel shotgun that is probably a RemingtonSPR220. Later, Joris (Noel Deelen) takes it as he goes back to the bank where he used to work.

Adler-Jager AP74/Armi-Jager AP-15

Another Dutch soldier at the check point is carrying an Adler-Jager AP-74/Armi-Jager AP-15, standing in for the current Dutch Diemaco C7A1 service rifle. The rifle seems to be a hybrid of the two; like the AP-15, it lacks the forward-assist but it has the typical sharply angled three prong flash hider of the AP-74.

Miscellaneous

Tasers

In the beginning of the movie, Aziz and Mo are detained at a police station for a pool party brawl that they unwillingly started. Kim uses several tasers on the prisoners in the cell block when they make too much noise. Upon closer inspection, these do not seem to be real tasers but rather dummies with the CGI-animated effects.

Mo gets tasered at his tongue when he makes a move at Kim. The taser looks to be just a conventional electric hair clipper with the taser flashes added in post-production.

With an ‘Told-you-so’ expression on her face, Kim fires taser darts at Jeffrey. Again, the taser seems to be a prop, based on some kind of toy version of the Micro Uzi.

Movie References

The movie contains lots of tongue-in-cheek references to other action movies. Below image of Mo leaning backwards from the front seat of a car with a loaded crossbow is most probably a reference to the car scene from Pulp Fiction and the frequent use of the words “Say Hello to my Little Baby” plus Mo’s Hawaï shirt are clear references to Scarface.

In addition, Joris’ waving around of a double barrelled shotgun is reminiscent of the ‘’This is my Broomstick” scene from Army of Darkness and the Barachi Brothers in their long black leather jackets look like characters straight out of The Matrix.

Finally, the scene where Nolan just refuses to die is very reminiscent of a scene at Dr. Evil’s underground lair from Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and when in the finale Mo sacrifices himself and stays behind with a detonator to blow up a building, one can only think of the scene at the Cyberdyne building from Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
