Judi Dench is a British actress best known to film audiences for her portrayal of M in two eras of the James Bond film franchise (4 co-starring with Pierce Brosnan and 3 with Daniel Craig). Her long acting career spanned stage and screen including as Queen Elizabeth in 1998's Shakespeare in Love, a role for which she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
