J. Edgar (2011)

J. Edgar is the 2011 biopic starring Leonardo DiCaprio as J. Edgar Hoover and follows his life from his rise to power as the first Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation up until his final years. The film was directed by Clint Eastwood.

Colt Pocket Positive

J. Edgar Hoover (Leonardo DiCaprio) is seen carrying what appears to be a nickel-plated Colt Pocket Positive during a raid in 1919. He is later seen holding the revolver during many arrests including the arrest of the kidnapper of the Lindbergh baby. The Colt revolver appears to be the one that Hoover owned and is now the property of the F.B.I. Though the production had the assistance of the F.B.I. in making the movie it is plausible that the Pocket Positive that appears in the film is one that has been remodeled.
