Iron Fist is the 2017 Netflix series adaptation of the Marvel superhero comic book of the same name. Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the series follows Danny Rand (Finn Jones), the son of a billionaire businessman who was presumed killed in a plane crash that also took the lives of his parents and who returns to New York City after a 15 year absence. Having been raised and trained in martial arts in a monastery in the Himalayas, Rand now possesses the ability to summon a mystical force known as the "Iron Fist". Iron Fist is the fourth original Netflix series set in the MCU that will highlight Marvel's "street-level" heroes, who will eventually unite for the 2017 Netflix miniseries The Defenders.
