The Highwaymen is a 2019 American historical crime film directed by John Lee Hancock (The Alamo, A Perfect World - writer) and written by John Fusco (Young Guns, Young Guns II,Thunderheart, Hidalgo). The movie focuses on the 1934 manhunt for Bonnie and Clyde that was run by the famous Texas Ranger Frank Hamer (Kevin Costner). Woody Harrelson portrays Benjamin Maney Gault who served with Hamer in the Rangers and participated in the manhunt operation. The movie was filmed in Louisiana in the winter and spring of 2018. The production filmed the (in)famous ambush of Bonnie and Clyde at the actual location on Highway 154 in Northern Louisiana from March 21 - March 25, 2018. The production had to truck in dirt since the highway is now a paved two lane highway. Trees were also planted to ensure that the location looked like it did on May 23, 1934.

The following weapons were used in the film The Highwaymen:

Also note the S&W style cylinder release latch and half-moon front sight. These are the only easily distinguishable external differences between the Colt and S&W versions.
