Hannibal is a television series created by Bryan Fuller and is based on the characters introduced in the Thomas Harris novel Red Dragon (which had been previously adapted in the 1986 film Manhunter and the 2002 film of the same name). The series follows FBI Investigator Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) as he is returned to active duty by his superior, Special Agent Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne), due to his unique ability to recreate heinous murders in his mind. The series also follows the brilliant Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen), who befriends Graham (both Dancy and Mikkelsen portrayed knights in director Antoine Fuqua's King Arthur). The series premiered in the US on NBC in 2013.
