Gettysburg
pattern 1858 Enfield All of the men of the 20th Maine Volunteer infantry regiment are armed with Pattern 1858 enfield muskets most notably at the battle of Little round top.
Springfield 1861
Both the Union and Confederate soldiers use Springfield percussion rifles throughout the film.
Spencer carbine
The Union cavalry uses Spencer carbines along with their Springfields. Other then that, the Spencers are never seen in the movie again.
scoped Sharps Rifle
A Confederate sniper uses a scoped Sharps rifle to kill Union General Reynolds during the battle.
Colt 1860 Army
All of the Union officers use Colt 1860 Army's. Joshua Chamberlain (Jeff Daniels) and Thomas Chamberlain (C. Thomas Howell) use Colt 1860s most notably at the Battle of Little Round Top. Joshua is seen reloading his Colt while waiting for the Confederates to charge again. Several other Union officers are seen using Colt 1860 Army's.
The Confederate officers use Colt 1851 Navy's.
