The following guns were used in the movie Frequency

Glock 17

John Sullivan(Jim Caviezel) uses a police issued Glock 22 as his main sidearm through out the film but never fires it.

Sorry to be the skeptic as usual, but...are you sure it's a G22? I only ask because I'm looking at the bore in the first screencap, and it looks a bit too small to be .40; more likely 9mm, which would make it a G17 (since it's clearly a full-size Glock). I should also point out that in real life, the compact G19 is what the NYPD uses, though of course this is a movie.
The movie takes place in 1999, so actually, the .40 cal wasn't really poular back then, was it? I belive it is a Glock 17.

John's Glock 17 lays just out of reach of him and Jack Shepard (Shawn Doyle) in the present.
Jack Shepard (Shawn Doyle) in the present holds John's Glock to his head.

Smith and Wesson Model 36

Jack Shepard(Shawn Doyle) in 1969 uses a Smith and Wesson Model 36 snub nose revolver in .38 special caliber holding five shots which is accurately depicted. Also Satch DeLeon(Andre Braugher) and the man he is with have .38s drawn in 1969 at the docks after Frank Sullivan(Dennis Quaid) "drowns" Shepard. You can see them holster the .38s into cross draw hip holsters.

Jack Shepard (Shawn Doyle) tries to aim his .38 at Frank Sullivan (Dennis Quaid) as he pursues him in 1969.
Shepard searches for Sullivan, .38 at the ready.
Shepard's .38 sinks to the bottom of the river as Sullivan and he fight.
Satch DeLeon's (Andre Braugher) partner holsters his .38 at the docks.

Sig Sauer P220-1

Used by Jack Shepard(Shawn Doyle) in 1999 as his police issued sidearm. It is classified as a P220-1 based on its wide grip and 7+1 capacity. (despite the last 8th round being given a click sound instead of a bang even though a shell is seen flying out of the gun as it locks back.)

John Sullivan (Jim Caveziel) and Jack Shepard (Shawn Doyle) struggle for his P220-1. The gun clicks on the last round despite a shell seen flying out.
Shepard aims his P220-1 at Sullivan.

Remington 870

Frank Sullivan(Dennis Quaid) uses a Remington 870 shotgun in 1969 to blow off Jack Shepard's(Shawn Doyle) hand and in 1999 to kill him.

Frank Sullivan aims his Remington 870 at Shepard in 1969, unable to get a clear shot as Shepard uses the young John as a shield.
Frank picks up the 870 when a shot at Shepard opens up, using it to blow off his hand. (Though it may look like it in this shot, it is not a Mossberg 500, it is a Remington 870 without a doubt.
The business end of Frank's Remington 870 in 1999 as he finishes Shepard off once and for all.
