This movie depicts the life of a NYPD officer, played by Paul Newman in South Bronx. The guns we can see in this movie are:

The standard service handgun of the NYPD during many years. It is used by most actors in the movie, including Danny Aiello, who uses the version with the light, tapered barrel.

Unidentified Revolver

At the end of the movie, we see a nickeled revolver, that seems to be a 2" "snubbie", in the hands of one of the bad guys. It has the exposed ejector rod like a Colt Detective Special, but the lines are different. Possibly a prop non-gun?
