M1 Carbine
Several of the US Marines who meet the astronauts on the beach are armed with the M1 Carbine.
The Modern Manufactured version of the M1 Carbine, with standard stock, from Auto-Ordnance (affiliated with Kahr Arms and Thomson Arms). Chambered in .30 Carbine
M14 Rifle
Several of the US Marines who meet the astronauts on the beach are also armed with M14 rifles. These appear to be M1 Garands modified with a fake flash hider and external magazine.
Smith & Wesson Model 10
A Smith & Wesson Model 10 is held by Dr. Otto Hasslein (Eric Braeden).
Colt Detective Special
Cornelius (Roddy McDowall) is seen with a Colt Detective Special near the end of the film.
