Equalizer 2000 (AKA Defender 2000) is a 1987 action movie directed by Cirio H. Santiago. In a post-nuclear Alaska, which has been turned in a hot desert, a Nazi-style group called "The Ownership" contends for rule over the territory. Disparate groups of rebels try to oppose The Ownership with little success until Slade (Richard Norton) creates a super-power weapon that he calls "Equalizer". The film was made during the height of the popularity of the Mad Max films, and Robert Patrick makes his first screen appearance in this movie.

The following weapons were used in the film Equalizer 2000:

"Equalizer"

The titular weapon of the movie, Equalizer (it is called "Equalizer", not "Equalizer 2000" in the movie) is based on a Colt Model 653 carbine (most likely Colt/Elisco Tools Model 653P, Philippine license-manufactured version), fitted with an M203 grenade launcher, a pair of overhead shotgun barrels and a pair of bottom mounted missile launchers. The launchers doesn't produce muzzle flash when firing, and the hissing sound is akin to a compressed air blast. The basic version of this weapon is made by Dixon's rebels, then it is improved by Slade (Richard Norton) who uses the weapon with devastating effect. During the following events Equalizer falls in hands of Deke (Robert Patrick), then of Lawton (William Steis), and in the final confrontation it is hold by Lawton's second-in-command Hayward (Frederick Bailey) until Slade reclaims the Equalizer.
