Elite Squad: The Enemy Within (aka Tropa de Elite 2 or Elite Squad 2) is the 2010 sequel to 2007's Elite Squad (Tropa de Elite). José Padilha returns from the first film as director and follows Lieutenant Colonel Roberto Nascimento (Wagner Moura) and Captain Andre Matias (Andre Ramiro) of the Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais (Special Operations Battalion) or BOPE as they combat criminals and uncover a broader conspiracy between members of the Military Police and government officials.

Handguns

Taurus PT92

The Taurus PT92 is used by Major Rocha (Sandro Rocha) and other Rio de Janeiro Military Police (PMERJ) officers, as well as by various criminals throughout the film.

Beirada (Seu Jorge), an imprisoned Comand Vermelho (Red Command) gang leader, uses a Taurus PT940 given to him by a corrupt prison guard to start a riot and execute rival gang members at the Bangu I penitentiary.

Rifles

Imbel M964 A1 ParaFAL

Most BOPE officers are armed with the Imbel M964 A1 ParaFAL carbine, including Captain Andre Matias (Andre Ramiro). The ParaFAL is a updated version of the M964 featuring a shorter barrel and light-weight polymer parts instead of the traditional aluminum. Available as either a parts kit or as a completely new weapon, the ParaFAL is currently used by many Brazilian police and military units.

Imbel MD-97 LC

Some BOPE officers are also seen with Imbel MD-97 LC rifles with picatinny rail mounts on the receiver. The MD-97 LC is the semi-automatic law enforcement version of the MD-97.

Imbel IA2

Colonel Roberto Nascimento (Wagner Moura) uses a Imbel IA2 carbine during the final shootout of the film.

A Colt AR-15A2 Sporter Lightweight, distinguished by solid stock and lack of bayonet lug, is carried by one of Rocha's men as they prepare to embark on a mission.

M4A1 Carbine

M4A1 carbines in both standard and modified variations are used by BOPE officers and members of Rocha's militia.

Norinco Type 56-1

Gang leader Felpa uses a Norinco Type 56-1 rifle when his territory is invaded by BOPE officers. Interestingly, the weapon has a folded "pig sticker" bayonet mounted beneath it.

Norinco Type 56

The standard Norinco Type 56 is also seen in the hands of gang members and one of the militia members. Like the Type 56-1, it also has a folding bayonet, as well as the slant muzzlebrake from the AKM.
