This article is about the television series. For the film, see Jesse Stone: Death in Paradise.

Death in Paradise is a BBC detective drama series aired since 2011. The show is set on the small fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie, where a power-sharing agreement between the British and French governments leads to a British Detective Inspector being appointed to run the police station in the island's capital of Honore. The show takes on a more light-hearted tone compared to typical gritty BBC detective dramas, using the "locked room" format of classic murder mystery detective stories. It is aired at the beginning of the year so as to help relieve the January blues.

The following weapons were used in the television series Death in Paradise (TV series):

Handguns

Colt Defender clone

A Colt Defender clone, described as being a .22 calibre pistol, is used as a murder weapon in S01E01 "Arriving in Paradise." In it, Detective Inspector Chris Hulme (Hugo Speer) is shot to death in the panic room of a mansion during a party. This gun then appears to be used by DI Richard Poole (Ben Miller) to test whether guests at the party would have heard the gunshot. It is somewhat similar in appearance to the Umarex Colt Defender air pistol, although it doesn't appear to be an air pistol. The muzzle is clearly shown in one shot, revealing that the barrel is much too wide to actually be a .22 pistol. The gun is fitted with a suppressor when both fatal shots are fired.

This model is then used as the murder weapon in "Missing a Body?" (S01E04).

The same model used again in S01E04 "Missing a Body?" Note the grip safety, which the otherwise similar-looking Umarex air pistol doesn't have.

Flintlock Pistol

In "A Deadly Curse" (S02E04), a treasure hunter is shot at night with an antique Flintlock pistol.

Glock 17

In "Political Suicide" (S03E05), a crate of illegal guns is opened on a boat, including a Glock 17.

SIG-Sauer P229

In "Missing A Body?" (S01E04), Detective Sergeant Camille Bordey (Sara Martins) fires a SIG-Sauer P229 at a coconut on a stand to test whether a suspected murderer could make a successful head shot from a certain distance.

In S12E04, the Saint Marie officers discover a SIG-Sauer P228 that had been used in a gangland shooting on Guadalupe.

Walther PPK

In "The Complex Murder" (S05E01), the murder victim is shot to death with a suppressed Walther PPK.

Revolvers

Enfield No. 2 Mk 1

In "Arriving in Paradise" (S01E01), James Lavender (Rupert Graves) attempts to shoot DI Chris Hulme with a .38 Enfield No. 2 Mk I, but misses due to his lack of shooting experience. The use of a double-action revolver was an astute move by the writer, as there are (typically) no manual safety mechanisms, chambering, or cocking the gun (other than simply pulling the trigger) required, meaning even someone with no gun experience could simply pull the trigger and fire, as long as it was loaded.

Smith & Wesson Model 19

In "Political Suicide" (S03E05), government minister Jacob Doran (Simon Shepherd) is found shot after an apparent suicide with a Smith & Wesson Model 19 revolver near his hand. The model appears to have custom grips. Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) says that, according to the autopsy report, Doran was shot with a .38 bullet. This fits in with the fact that .357 Magnum revolvers are also able to fire .38 Special ammunition.

Rifles

AK-47

In "Political Suicide" (S03E05), a crate of illegal guns is opened on a boat, including a pair of AK-47s. In S12E02, army veteran Charlie Banks has illegally imported a number of AK-47s, which he has stashed in a crate.
