Dead Presidents (1995)

The following guns were used in the movie Dead Presidents.

Smith & Wesson Model 36

After Kirby goes to collect some debts with Anthony as his unknowing getaway driver, a woman threatens him with a small silver revolver. He easily wrestles it from her, and is attacked by another man from the shop, who accidentally takes Kirby's prosthetic leg off. Kirby falls to the floor and aims at him, claiming the entire time everyone in town knows he has one leg, and he pulled the wrong one. As they get away in Kirby's car, Anthony notices Kirby set down the revolver, which is quite obviously a nickel plated Smith & Wesson Model 36. Another blued Model 36 "Flat Latch" is seen on the table in the planning room, and is used as Anthony's sidearm during the robbery, from which he fires 3 rounds before running out of ammunition on the second police officer he attempts to kill with it.

Mossberg 590

During Anthony's tour in Vietnam, he carries a Mossberg 590 shotgun, which is an anachronism. The Mossberg 590 wasn't introduced until 1987. Anthony's Mossberg also swapped out the original wood with sporting wood taken off of a 500C model.

M16A1/XM16E1

Many of the men in the Marine Recon unit use the M16A1 rifle. Lieutenant Dugan's is noteworthy in that it is configured like an M16A1, but it has the original M16 three prong flash hider.

Dugan aims his XM16E1 (poorly, his stance is not firm and he's closing his right eye). Note the three prong flash hider, distinguishing it as an XM16E1.

M3A1 "Grease Gun"

As Anthony is the designated shotgunner, the platoon Staff Sergeant, Cleon, is the designated autogunner. He carries an M3A1 "Grease Gun", which in the movie has a very memorable muzzle report and slow fire rate.

PPSh-41 Submachine Gun

When searching for intel the jungle after calling in an airstrike, D'Ambrosio finds a PPSh-41 Submachine Gun and moves it from one of the bodies.

1911A1/Government Model

In a few short clips, Dugan and Cleon can be seen using their 1911A1 sidearms, Dugan fires for cover, while Cleon executes a man with a shot to the back of the head. Later, during the robbery, a nickel plated model is used by both Kirby, who fires a whopping 11 rounds without locking, and Skip. A Government Model is used by Delilah, along with a blued Commander.

RPD Light Machine Gun

When Dugan goes for cover after unloading his 1911A1, we see that a machine gun crew armed with an RPD Light Machine Gun is firing upon him. It is not the Chinese copy as the front sight has an open hood.

Norinco Type 56 (AK47 and SKS)

During the night Recon mission, the Recon unit is fired upon, most of their enemies being armed with Norinco Type 56s, both the AK47 and SKS clones.

Colt Combat Commander 9mm

A little while after Anthony returns home, he learns of his girlfriends affair with a man named Cutty, as he frequently visits Anthony's girlfriend and child in their home with money to help them get by. Eventually Anthony snaps and tells Cutty to "stay the fuck away from his family" to which Cutty responds angrily by throwing Anthony down a flight of stairs. He then draws a well polished nickel plated Colt Combat Commander in 9mm (denoted as a 9 by it's smaller chamber and bore diameter) from his coat, and aims it at Anthony's head, telling him to "suck it." Another blued one is used by Delilah in the armored car robbery with her Government Model.

Remington 870

Anthony's primary weapon during the armored truck robbery is a Remington 870 equipped with a pistol grip, and a short vent rib barrel with a blade front sight. As he falls to the floor to avoid Delilah's cover fire, the pump changes from that of a hunting one to a police style one, and the front sight disappears.

Ithaca 37

As the armored car driver notices the gang moving in on the car, he calls "ambush" and a police officer in the back seat racks an Ithaca 37 and points it through the slit in the van, firing on Joe.

Smith & Wesson Model 10

The police officer who attempts to intervene in the armored truck robbery uses a Smith & Wesson Model 10. He is drawn by Kirby's 11 rounds fired from his Commander, and returns 9 of his own from his six shot revolver, making their gun battle highly fictitious. Another Smith & Wesson Model 10 is used by Joe in the planning room, and after the robbery as he fires 8 rounds without reloading at a pursuing police car.

Are you sure this is a Model 10? Looks like a .357 to me. MoviePropMaster2008 02:35, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
The only .357 it'd match would be the Model 13, and since the Model 10 and Model 13 are so incredibly similar, denoting the exact model is nigh impossible. Locically it has to be a Model 10 though, since Joe fires it so easily. A .357 would kick too much.
It wouldn't matter, it's a movie and he's shooting blanks, which don't kick. - Gunmaster45
I agree. Look at the sample gun pic and the screen capture right below it. The hammer is slightly farther 'in' to the frame in the movie shot. Also the front sight is slightly different, despite being a factory iron sight. Also the Frame looks slightly beefier, but it may be my eyes playing tricks on me. Also to reiterate what GM45 said, in a movie the actors are always shooting blanks so the recoil is never an indicator of a caliber. MoviePropMaster2008

Colt Trooper

Most of the police officers carry a Colt New Service revolver.

This is not a Colt new service, it's clearly a .38/.357 caliber and not a .45. It also has a newer construction and a Trooper hammer.
