Dead Alive (1993)

Dead Alive (original title Braindead) is a 1993 New Zealand horror-comedy that was the third feature film directed by Peter Jackson. At the time of its theatrical release, the film ran into controversy due to its excessive gore, but has since gained cult status.

At the film's opening, Stewart (Bill Ralston) uses a Sterling SMG to fend off the Skull Island natives that protest him taking one of the Sumatran Rat Monkeys.

The Sterling is fired in the air to scare off the natives.
