Curd Jürgens
Curd Jürgens (December 13, 1915 - June 18, 1982) was a German film and theater actor and one of the most successful and strongest characters in German cinema. Curd Jürgens made his international breakthrough with the film adaptation of Carl Zuckmayer's The Devil's General in 1955. He was then involved in numerous international productions and worked with the most popular colleagues of his time like Robert Mitchum. Jürgens appeared in around 160 films over a period of four decades. He was a member of the ensemble at Vienna's Burgtheater for many years. Film titles such as Michel Strogoff (1956), The Enemy Below (1957), Ferry to Hong Kong (1959), and The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) are among his most popular works.
