The plot is set in Russian Empire in 1916. Secret papers about the Russian troops in the Far East are stolen from the General Staff in Petrograd. The group of counterintelligence service follow the traces of the captor on the Trans-Siberian railroad to Vladivostok. In order to disguise themselves, they pose as a film crew.

''Note:'' the transliteration of the Russian title is per IMDb though "Kuryerskiy" would be more correct than "Kurersky". The title itself is also very sloppy translated, literally it would be "Courier Train of Special Importance" (a term similar to the German "Schnellzug"), and in meaning - ''"Express of Special Importance"''.
