Coup de Torchon Coup de Torchon is a 1981 French film adaptation of Jim Thompson's 1964 novel called Pop. 1280, directed by Bertrand Tavernier. Director transferred a story into French colony on the eve of the Second World War. Cast in the main roles Philippe Noiret as cop Lucien Cordier and Isabelle Huppert as Rose Mercaillou.
