Handguns

SIG-Sauer P230

Det. M.J. Monahan (Holly Hunter) uses a SIG-Sauer P230 as her main sidearm. Foley (William McNamara) steals this gun in the final sequence.

Monahan holds her P230 in the police station shootout.

Colt Mustang

Later in the film, in Det M.J. Monahan (Holly Hunter) carries a backup weapon in addition to her SIG. This firearm seems to be another small .380, possibly a Colt Mustang or a Mustang Plus II. It is unclear if the weapon seen is in stainless or blued finish. It is obviously not a Para-Ordnance P-12 or the 1911 that she used earlier in the film, due to the size it is in her hand. We can't be sure, but it's probably a Colt Mustang. Either way, Monahan sure likes her .380s.

Smith & Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman

Daryll Lee Cullum (Harry Connick Jr.) steals a Smith & Wesson Model 28 Highway Patrolman off the policeman who comes to the bathrooms.

Cullum takes the cop hostage. Note the dull finish and shallow cylinder fluting, this appears to be a rubber stunt prop, likely done for safety reasons. Also, note Harry Connick Jr.'s good trigger discipline.

Cullum shoots at the cop. This seems to be either a real gun firing blanks or a flash paper gun, either way, it is different than the rubber prop seen earlier.

Peter Foley (William McNamara) never uses his M28.

SIG-Sauer P220

The Chinese boy steals a SIG-Sauer P220 (Judging from the lack of a double stack ridge) off Nicoletti (Will Patton) from his drawer and then takes Det. Reuben Goetz (Dermot Mulroney) hostage.

but carelessly forgets to lock it...

Reuben taken hostage by the Chinese boy. And to think, he just offered him a donut! Note the lack of a double-stack magazine bulge on the frame, identifying this as a P220.

The Chinese boy holds the SIG P220 on Reuben. Note the flat triangle on the front half of the slide, helping to identify this as a stamped West German-manufactured gun.

The Chinese boy picks up the SIG...

And fires. It seems to be a SIG flash paper gun.

The Chinese boy is apprehended with another P220.

A SFPD SWAT member outside Foley's burning house uses either a P220 or a P226.

Colt Combat Commander with Seecamp Conversion

Det M.J. Monahan (Holly Hunter) uses a double action converted Colt Commander with pachmyar grips as her support weapon.
