Work In Progress

This article is still under construction. It may contain factual errors. See Help talk:Common Mistakes for current discussions. Content is subject to change.

This is a list of common mistakes that users make when creating a page. I will continue to add more things as I think of them. Feel free to add your own entries.

CHECK YOUR EDITS!!

This cannot be said enough. Whether you are a first time user just learning wiki-code or an experienced veteran typos happen! Before you click "save page", ALWAYS click "show preview". If it looks okay then save it. If it doesn't show up correctly fix it.

Read up on Wikicode

If you are a beginner, familiarize yourself with wikicode. It is pretty easy to learn (particularly if you know HTML/CSS). If you don't know how to do something, ask around!

Creating tables

 • Blank entries in a table DO NOT get a period a dash or any other mark. If there is no note or no actor, simply leave the cell blank.

When you create a table such as:

Title Actor Character Note Date
The Bourne Legacy Jeremy Renner Aaron Cross 2012
Killer Elite Jason Statham Danny Bryce 2011

You MUST remember to close the Table. Note the difference:

WRONG:

...
|-
| The Bourne Legacy || Jeremy Renner || Aaron Cross || || 2012
|-
| Killer Elite || Jason Statham || Danny Bryce || || 2011
|-

CORRECT:

...
|-
| The Bourne Legacy || Jeremy Renner || Aaron Cross || || 2012
|-
| Killer Elite || Jason Statham || Danny Bryce || || 2011
|-
|}

Splitting into categories

When you create a page for a Film/TV Show/Video Game, if there are more than 7 weapons, you must categorize the weapons. (Handguns, Submachine Guns, Assault Rifles, etc.) One exception to this rule is with video games. Instead of "Handguns", "Submachine Guns", etc. You may categorize them as the game does (Primary Weapon, Secondary Weapon, Launchers, etc.). The point is there must be organization!

Titles

Film, television series and video game titles are to be italicized, episode titles should be in quotations.

Blank Categories

When creating a Gun Page, only create tables for categories where the gun actually appears. In other words, if the gun has only appeared in Movies, do not create a table for Video Games or Television.

Gun Specs

When you create a new gun page, add the specs for the gun. Don't just add the occurrences for the weapon.

Specifications
(???? - ????)

* Type:

* Caliber:

* Weight: lbs ( kg)

* Length: in ( cm)

* Barrel length: in ( cm)

* Capacity:

* Fire Modes:

TV Episodes

When making a table for the occurances of a weapon in a TV show, Episodes go in the Note column, NOT the title column. This is largely due to the fact that not every entry will have an "Episode". IT SHOULD BE:

Show Title Actor Character Note / Episode Air Date

NOT

Show Title / Episode Actor Character Note Air Date
