Auguste Le Breton (born Auguste Monfort; February 18, 1913 - May 31, 1999) was a French novelist, author of numerous works about the criminal underworld. His novels were adapted into about a dozen films, starring such actors as Jean Gabin, Lino Ventura, Alain Delon, Robert Hossein, Jean Servais, Marcel Bozzuffi, and Charles Vanel.
