Brother (Brat) is a 1997 cult Russian thriller film directed by Aleksey Balabanov. The story revolves around a young Russian man named Danila (Sergei Bodrov Jr.), who goes to join his older brother in St. Petersburg. But Danila's older sibling is a gangster and a cold-blooded contract-killer. Danila is asked to kill someone, and soon learns that he finds killing easier than living (people who don't speak Russian may find it ironic and humorous that the Russian word for "brother" is "brat", so any of us who have brothers will find humor in that translation.)

The following weapons are featured in the film Brother:

Handmade Revolver

Danila's first gun is a locally-produced .22 LR revolver (which apparently has no official name). Cheap revolvers such as this one were produced in the 1990s by one of the gangs which operated out of the Moscow Suburbs. Many people wrongly identify it as a Nagant revolver, due to the somewhat similar appearance to a Nagant.

An exhibit of a locally produced .22 LR Revolver from a Russian Police museum.
The same model, but with another finish.
Danila examines the revolver he took from a mobster.
Danila takes the gun from his pocket and checks it out before a showdown with the white gangsters.
Danila tells one of the white guys to pay the fine.
The revolver is seen lying on a table.
Danila loads the revolver.
Danila works on a suppressor made out of a water bottle and oil filter.
The crude suppressor attached.

Makarov PM

A Makarov PM is used by "Utyug" ("Iron") (Vladimir Labetskiy), one of Krugly's henchmen.

Victor: Here's a piece with a clip for you. This is 600 more... we'll square accounts later.
Danila: I don't need it.
The "Nervous Gangster"(Anatoliy Zhuravlyov) aims his M1911 at the debtor's friend (Andrey Krasko)
"Nervous Gangster" knocks down Stepan (Andrey Fedortsov).
Stepan: Guys, I've probably got on the wrong floor, I should go upstairs.
Danila shoots "Nervous Gangster" with his own Colt.

Walther P38

Krugly's main henchman (Aleksey Sevastyanov) carries a Walther P38.

12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun - 12 Gauge
Sawed-off shotgun - 12 Gauge.
Danila: If you'll lie quiet, I'll let you go.

Custom-made SMG

A suppressed submachine gun is seen in Viktor's kitchen, with a design somewhat reminiscent of the Sa 23. This is a custom-built submachine gun, one of the countless that were made in the former USSR in the 1990s by criminals and rebels, and whose quality ranged from "crumbling-in-your-hands" to "factory-made quality".
