Born by Revolution (Rozhdyonnaya revolyutsiey) is a Soviet made for TV historical films series, released in 1974-1977, directed by Grigori Kokhan and based on the novel "Povest ob ugolovnom rozyske" ("A Tale of Criminal Investigations Department") by Aleksey Nagorny and Geliy Ryabov. The series depicts the history of Soviet Ugolovny Rozysk (criminal police) from 1917 to 1970s, seen through the eyes of Nikolay Fomich Kondratyev (Evgeniy Zharikov).

The second film Assault (Napadenie) is set in 1919 in Moscow where Nikolay Kondratyev is temporary sent from Petrograd. Together with his colleagues, Kondratyev investigates the robbery of cash delivery car. During the events of Napadenie Kondratyev meets his future wife Maria Korablyova.

The following weapons were used in the film Born by Revolution: Assault (Rozhdyonnaya revolyutsiey: Napadenie):

Revolvers

Nagant M1895

Nagant M1895 revolvers are widely used by Ugolovny Rozysk personnel, notably Nikolay Kondratyev (Evgeniy Zharikov) (used in firing scenes as a substitution for his Smith & Wesson Military & Police that is described below), Afinogen Polyukaev (Sergei Ivanov) and Nikiforov (Lev Prygunov), Militsia and criminals. These revolvers are of anachronistic post-1930 version.

Denisov (Vladimir Karpenko), a guard on cash delivery car, holds a Nagant.
Polyukaev (in center) carries a Nagant in his belt.
Nikiforov chases for bandit "Valet".

Kondratyev's Smith & Wesson switches to a Nagant in firing scene.
Kutkov's henchman (Anton Dotsenko) holds a Nagant.
Polyukaev and his unnamed colleague (Pyotr Filonenko) aims their revolvers during the arrest of Kutkov's gang.

Smith & Wesson Victory Model

When Nikolay Kondratyev (Evgeniy Zharikov) is send to Moscow, he is given a revolver that his superior Stepan Petrovich Sergeev (Uldis Pucitis) calls a Colt. In fact it is a Smith & Wesson Victory Model with 4" barrel (it can be distinguished from Military & Police model due to its dull gray parkerized finish). In firing scenes this revolver is substituted with a Nagant M1895.

Pisols

Mauser C96 "Bolo"

Short-barreled Mauser C96 "Bolo" pistol, anachronistic for 1919, is a personal weapon of Somov (Vitaly Rozstalny), the chief of Moscow Ugolovny Rozysk. "Bolo" pistols are also used by criminals.

Bandit Plavskiy (Yuriy Sherstnyov) fires his "Bolo" during the robbery of cash delivery car.
Plavskiy holds his "Bolo" in the scene in Professor Zhichigin's apartments.
The grip of Plavskiy's Mauser is seen. The slide stucks in rear position; it happens every time when this pistol is fired (probably it is loaded with a single cartridge each time).
Kutkov's henchman (Boris Aleksandrov) fires at Kondratyev and Maria Korablyova.
Gang leader Kutkov (Aleksandr Yanvaryov) gives a Mauser to his henchman "Valet" (Valentin Grudinin).
"Valet" holds the pistol.
Somov leads the operation aganist Kutkov's gang.
"Valet" surrenders.
A bandit (Boris Aleksandrov) holds a "Bolo" when being ambushed by Ugolovny Rozysk personnel.

FN Model 1900

Ugolovny Rozysk detective Nikiforov (Lev Prygunov) carries an FN Model 1900 pistol in addition to his service Nagant M1895 revovler.

Walther Model 9A

Nikiforov (Lev Prygunov) also carries a Walther Model 9A pocket pistol, tied with an elastic band, in his sleeve. He calls it "a trick innovation". Walther Model 9 is anachronistic for 1919, the base model of this pistol appeared only in 1921 while Model 9A started production in 1924.
