Frank Booth (Dennis Hopper) uses a suppressed Smith & Wesson Model 39 semi-automatic pistol in the final confrontation between him and Jeffrey Beaumont (Kyle MacLachlan). Booth racks the slide of the Smith & Wesson every time he fires it, probably due to the suppressor which does not leave enough gas to cycle the slide.
