Batman is the 1966 television series adaptation of the DC Comics superhero. Largely known for its campiness, the series followed Batman (Adam West) and Robin (Burt Ward) as they fought against a "villain of the week" in the city of Gotham. The series boasted many well known figures to portray villains, including Burgess Meredith, Cesar Romero, Frank Gorshin, Liberace, Cliff Robertson, and Eli Wallach. The series premiered in the US on ABC in January of 1966 and aired 120 episodes until 1968.

The Colt Detective Special is a frequently used handgun in the series. Both Aunt Harriet Cooper (Madge Blake) and Chandell (Liberace) handle the revolver in "The Devil's Fingers" (S2E15).
