Despite being touted as a remake or sequel to the 1992 film Bad Lieutenant, the director Werner Herzog insists that this is an original work only vaguely following the same story of a drug addicted and violent police detective surrounded by crime and sex. The official international title is The Bad Lieutenant:Port of Call - New Orleans

The following weapons were used in the film Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans:

SPOILERS.jpg WARNING! THIS PAGE CONTAINS SPOILERS!

Handguns

Glock 17

In the opening scene Sgt. Terence McDonagh (Nicolas Cage) gives a Glock 17 (unknown generation) to Stevie Pruit (Val Kilmer) before diving into the water.

A Generation 3 Glock 17 - 9x19mm
McDonagh is going to save the prisioner.

Smith & Wesson Model 29

LT. Terence McDonagh (Nicolas Cage) uses a Smith & Wesson Model 29 with 6.5" barrel as his weapon of choice. He carries it inside his pants and without a holster. McDonagh refers to it as a ".44 Mag" when he asks Mundt (Michael Shannon) to bring it back. I doubt any police department would allow that caliber nor the lack of a holster.

Smith & Wesson Model 29 - .44 magnum
The lieutenant says bye to his revolver.
Frankie Donnenfeld (Eva Mendes) extracts the revolver to relax McDonagh.
McDonagh during the raid.
McDonagh is going to inspect Frankie's hotel room.
Terence menaces Binnie Rogers (Irma P. Hall).
Best close-up of McDonagh's Model 29.
Finger on the trigger.
"I'll kill all of you...till the break of dawn" McDonagh points his Smith & Wesson at Big Fate (Xzibit).

Note how the rosewood wood grips have become tulipwood.

Glock 19

Several agents use 3rd generation Glock 19s.

Glock 19 (3rd Generation) - 9x19mm
Inspectors prepares to the arrest.
Note the direction Lt. McDonagh's revolver is pointed and his lack of trigger discipline.

SIG-Sauer P230/232

Several characters brandish a SIG-Sauer P230/232. Lt. McDonagh put this gun inside his pants at the end of the movie.

Sig P230 - Stainless Steel finish - .380 acp/9mm kurz
Fate's thug with his stainless SIG.

Ruger P89

The Ruger P89 is the sidearm of Stevie Pruit (Val Kilmer).

Ruger P89 - 9x19mm
Toc toc.
Pruit is forcing Fate to take the gun on the table.
Nice close-up.

Star Model B

Armand Benoit (Shawn Hatosy) is seen with a Star Model B.

Star Model B Pistol, blued finish - 9mm.
Note the details.
The detectives prepares to open the wardrobe.

M1911A1

A Gratz thug points a silver M1911A1 during the standoff.

Satin Nickel M1911A1 - .45 ACP
Gratz's man points his 1911.

Magnum Research Desert Eagle MK I/VII

A thug in Frankie's apartment points at McDonagh's dog with a stainless Desert Eagle. The safety lever is not visible enough to determine the version. But certainly not XIX.

Matte stainless Desert Eagle MK I - .357 Magnum
Best view.

Smith & Wesson 659

During the climax both Fate's men use Smith & Wesson 659s.

Ruger P89 - 9x19mm
