The Assassination of Trotsky is a 1972 British-Italian-French biopic directed by Joseph Losey and depicting the last year of the life of Leon Trotsky and his assassination by Ramón Mercader (Frank Jackson in the movie) in August 1940.
The following weapons were used in the film The Assassination of Trotsky:
A Rast-Gasser 1898 revolver is seen on Trotsky's (Richard Burton) table in the scene of the murder.

Webley .38 Mk IV
Lou (Jack Betts, credited as Hunt Powers), the head of Trotsky's bodyguards, carries a revolver in holster. Judging by the shape of the grip with lanyard ring and by the holster, Webley .38 Mk IV seems to be a decent guess. Webley-style revolvers are also seen in hands of Trotsky's bodyguard Jim (Michael Forest) and of a Mexican police detective.

Jim runs to wounded Trotsky, holding a revolver in hand.
Jim's revolver is seen when he and another bodyguard capture Frank Jackson. Trotsky's Rast-Gasser 1898
is seen on the table.
Colt Detective Special
A Colt-style compact revolver, supposedly a Colt Detective Special, is seen in hands of Trotsky's bodyguard Sam (Joshua Sinclair). A Mexican police detective holds a same looking revolver.

A Mexican police detective holds a snub nose revolver. The shape of the frame matches Colt DS. A uniformed officer next to him holds what appears to be an M1911.
Sam and other bodyguards drag severly beaten Frank Jackson. The wide grip of Sam's holstered revolver matches Colt revolver, and the round logo is just in place.
What appears to be a Browning Hi-Power is briefly seen in hands and holster of Ruiz (Luigi Vannucchi) (this character is a substitution of real person of David Alfaro Siqueiros, a Mexican painter) when he, disguised as a Mexican police officer, leads his men to attack Trotsky's house.
Classic Commercial Browning Hi-Power (Belgian manufacture) - 9x19mm. Such post-war version doesn't fit for 1940 but the screen pistol is definitly not a correct pre-war P-35.
Ruiz, disguised as a police officer, carries a pistol in holster.
Ruiz holds his pistol. A step on the front part of the slide, typical for Hi-Power, can be seen.
The shape of the grip also matches Hi-Power.
The grip of Ruiz' holstered pistol is seen when he fires a Thompson. The heel also matches Hi-Power.
FÉG Tokagypt 58 Firebird
Gita Samuels finds a FÉG Tokagypt 58 (most likely a commercial version, known as Firebird) in Jackson's suitcase.
FÉG Tokagypt 58 - 9x19mm Parabellum.
Gita finds Jackson's pistol. The shadow reveals additional round lanyard ring. Black grips match Firebird commercial version of Tokagypt.
Frank Jackson (Alain Delon) carries an M1911-style pistol in the climactic scene.

But he is captured by bodyguards.
Some Trotsky's bodyguards and police personnel carry pistols that aren't seen clear enough for identification.
Bodyguard Sheldon Harte (Carlos Miranda) carries a pistol in holster. A small part of the grip is seen.

Ruiz (Luigi Vannucchi) and several of his men use M1928A1 Thompson SMGs during the attack on Trotsky's house. Lou (Jack Betts), the head of Trotsky's bodyguards, also carries a Thompson.

M43 Spanish Mauser
Most of Ruiz' men, disguised as Mexican police, carry M43 Spanish Mauser, standing for correct M1936 Mexican Mausers.
