The first episode of ''[[Archer]]'' aired on September 17th, 2009 to coincide with the fifth season premiere of fellow FX comedy ''[[It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia]]'', but the rest of the season didn't follow until January the next year. It was the fourth series created/co-created by Adam Reed, following ''Sealab 2021'', ''Frisky Dingo'', and its short-lives spinoff, ''The Xtacles'', all of which ran on Adult Swim.

Country Flag of the United States.jpg USA
Channel FX
Genre Spy / Workplace comedy
Broadcast 2009-2010
No. of Episodes 10

The first episode of Archer aired on September 17th, 2009 to coincide with the fifth season premiere of fellow FX comedy It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but the rest of the season didn't follow until January the next year. It was the fourth series created/co-created by Adam Reed, following Sealab 2021, Frisky Dingo, and its short-lives spinoff, The Xtacles, all of which ran on Adult Swim.

The following weapons were used in Season 1 of the animated series Archer:

Handguns

Walther PPK

Sterling Archer's primary sidearm is a Walther PPK. The rendering of the PPK improves as the show goes on, but it's very primitive during the first season. According to the companion book How to Archer: The Ultimate Guide to Espionage and Style and Women and Also Cocktails Ever Written, his PPK is chambered in .32 ACP.

Archer points his PPK at Lana in "Mole Hunt" (S01E01).
Archer pulls out his PPK in "Training Day" (S01E02).
"Oh ho, *I'm* queer. From the guy whose tiny gun came with a matching purse!" (Notice the lack of any details on the gun.)
A closeup of Archer's PPK in "Diversity Hire" (S01E03).
Conway Stern with a blued and suppressed PPK in "Diversity Hire" (S01E03).
Archer with his PPK in "Job Offer" (S01E09).
Archer counters Pam's staple gun with his PPK in "Dial M for Mother" (S01E10).
A drunken Archer drops his pistol on stone steps in "Dial M for Mother" (S01E10).

Mauser M712 Schnellfeuer

Manfred has a Mauser M712 Schnellfeuer as his sidearm, using it to shoot Torvald Utne (not the Olympic shot-putter) in "Killing Utne."

Manfred guns down Utne in full auto, and not using blanks. (Unless the back of his skull decided at that exact moment to explode outward.)
Manfred shoos away Trinette in "Dial M for Mother."

Beretta 92F

Captain Lammers uses a Beretta 92F in "Skytanic." Archer also uses a suppressed Beretta 92F in one scene in "Skorpio." Lana Kane also carries a pair of Beretta 92F pistols in a dual-pistol shoulder rig. Manfred briefly carries a pair of 92Fs in a shoulder rig similar to Lana's in "Killing Utne", though he does not use either.

Beretta 92F - 9x19mm
"Torvald, feel free to cup anything in the room." ("Killing Utne")
"What? They're YOUR clothes, idiot!" ("Skorpio" (S01E06))
"Captain Lammers!" (Nice read, Velma.)

Dan Wesson 744V

Since retiring from the field, Malory Archer's primary handgun is a Dan Wesson 744V, tricked out with a scope and laser. She sleeps with it by her beside in "Dial M for Mother" (S01E10).

Dan Wesson 744V - .44 Magnum
Malory grabs her revolver.
"Who's there? What do you want? Because all you're going to get is holes. I mean, holes in YOU!"
Malory's revolver on her bed.
Malory fires on Archer as he's chopping through her door with a cleaver. He somehow survives six .44 Magnum rounds to the chest.

Desert Eagle Mark VII

Archer's rival, Barry Dillon, carries a nickel Desert Eagle Mark VII. Ramon Limon has a blued Desert Eagle.

Desert Eagle MK VII - .44 Magnum w/ nickel finish.

Colt Lawman MK III

Sterling is shown with a Colt Lawman MK III in a flashback during "Killing Utne."

"Oh my God, I can't believe they fell for that." The first of THREE(!) Russian roulette scenes in the series.

Colt Python

Malory uses one in one of her flashbacks in "Job Offer."

Colt Python with 6" Barrel - .357 Magnum
"Alright ya yellow sons of bitches, let's dance!"

SIG-Sauer P226

A two-tone SIG-Sauer P226 is seen on the floor while another is used by Archer in "Skorpio." It is missing most of its controls. Boris uses a P226 with what appears to be an extended barrel in "Dial M for Mother" (S01E10).

A factory black (K-Kote) SIG-Sauer P226 pistol chambered in 9x19mm. This is a real movie gun and has appeared in several motion pictures.
One of Skorpio's henchman reaches for the P226 before Archer puts a bullet through his head, also with a P226.

Major Jakov's assistant holds a P226 to a scientist's head. This is from season 1, before they reworked the guns.

Submachine Guns

TEC-9

Lana Kane is often seen with a pair of TEC-9's, which would be a good fit for her Johnny Bench-ian, steam-shovelly, Truckasaurus hands. According to the dialogue, they are TEC-9s, and fire full auto, but lack the sling rings of a TEC-9.

Rifles

AK-47

The AK-47 shows up numerous times during the series. They appear to be based on real AK-47s, with the milled receiver and open-topped front sight.

Archer stares at Lana's... gun in "Skorpio" (S01E06).
Note the open-topped front sight on Archer's AK-47 in "Skorpio." (And how often is an animated character captured in mid-blink?)

M14

Cyril channels Private Pyle from Full Metal Jacket with an M14 after Lana decides to sleep with all the men at ISIS as a form of revenge in "Dial M for Mother."

M14 rifle - 7.62x51mm NATO
"Seven, six, two, millimeter. Full. Metal. Jacket- SOMEONE'S IN HERE!"

M21

An M21 rifle is seen in a crate during a flashback to the last moments of Agents Ruiz, Pak, and Mgumbe (all of which recycle the same background) in "Diversity Hire."

M21 Sniper Rifle 7.62x51mm NATO
"Ruiz! Hey man, talk to these chicks, alright? Tell them how we're really ISIS agents, they don't believe me. Helloooo, Senor Wingmaannnn..."

Heckler & Koch PSG-1

Except in one instance, the Heckler & Koch PSG-1 is the primary sniper rifle of ISIS.

Miscellaneous

Battelle Tactical Air Initiated Launch system

Archer uses a smaller version of the Battelle Tactical Air Initiated Launch system to launch a grappling hook in "Mole Hunt" (S01E01.

Spear Gun

Lana carries around a spear gun for some reason in "Training Day" (S01E02). She actually uses it in "Diversity Hire" (S01E03).

Rocket Launcher

Skorpio's henchmen prepare to fire rocket launchers at Archer and Lana in "Skorpio." These are probably supposed to be FIM-43 Redeye missiles, since Skorpio was supposed to be selling them, but don't look like Redeyes at all.

Archer Redeye 01.jpg

".25 cal Chekhov"

This is the pistol that Archer gives to Cyril in "Training Day." The name comes from the literary technique "Chekhov's gun," which comes into play later in this episode. It's never seen again after "Training Day." They can never seem to nail down a design. According to the companion book How to Archer: The Ultimate Guide to Espionage and Style and Women and Also Cocktails Ever Written, it's supposed to be a Walther TPH.

Here is looks like a Walther TPH.
Here is looks like a tiny SIG-Sauer P226.

Crossbow

Archer and Lana use crossbows to infiltrate a palace in San Marino in "The Rock" (S01E08).

Scaling issues

Scaling, as seen in the armory shots above, used to be a problem, especially in the early episodes.

Archer looks at the equipment that Krieger issued for Cyril in the second episode, "Training Day." There's what appears to be an out of scale SIG-Sauer P220, which, compared to the poison pen, (and the cap which slips off for like, no reason), might be only four inches long.
A closer shot. It is properly scaled by episode 4.

The PPK

Consistency was also not a strongpoint in Season 1.

These are all supposed to be the same gun in the same episode.
