America's Army: Proving Grounds is the sequel to America's Army 3, released in 2013. It is set in the same fictional East European region as America's Army 3, with the background being that the player is an 11B Infantryman practicing combat maneuvers at Joint Training Center Griffin located in the region for future operations.

The game is multiplayer-only and more streamlined to emphasizes small unit tactical maneuvers, but still realistic overall. Like the first game, players always see themselves as the US Army, and see their opponents as the OPFOR faction. Originally, weapons in the OPFOR armory can only be picked up from dead enemies and usable only in that game. Following the March 13th, 2018 update on the PS4 and the April 12th, 2018 update on the PC, OPFOR weapons are added to the equipment customization menu. They can be used if the player first "secures" them by eliminating enemies wielding them. US Army weapons and optics are closely modeled after real equipment, while OPFOR weapons and optics are stylized portrayals of real weapons and optics.

The following weapons appear in the video game America's Army: Proving Grounds
