24 was an American television action series that starred Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, an agent for government agency known as the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU). The show is notable for having each episode occur in real time (including commercial breaks). Each season encompassed a 24 hour period (hence the name "24") in Jack Bauer's life as he attempted to thwart a dire threat to the country. The series, which aired on the FOX network as a regular series for eight seasons from 2001 to 2010, also inspired a video game (24: The Game) and a television movie (24: Redemption). In May of 2014, 24 returned to television as a limited series with 24: Live Another Day.
